Putine modele ELAC au captivat atatea inimi cum a facut-o "305". A primit atatea titluri de la lansarea ei pe piata in 1995, cum ar fi "Elegant 305. Little Wonder" si de aceea nu este o surpriza ca acest copil preferat a beneficiat de ultimele tehnologii ELAC. "CE" vine de la "Crystal Edition", noua tehnologie a membranei Crystal ce a creat senzatie.

Disponibile ca accesorii sunt standurile dedicate LS 70 sau dispozitivul de perete 305/ 310.

Treble Unit

In the design of the fabric dome tweeter HT 19 KST used in the CL 305, special emphasis was put on detailed treble imaging. The membrane diameter of 19mm enables a particularly homogenous and three-dimensional sound resolution.

The fabric material has a special structure with excellent acoustic qualities. The fine mesh allows the pole shank to shimmer through the fabric, thus lending the dome a slight sheen. The upper side of the membrane is coated by hand. Due to a coarser mesh, the metal grille increases the mechanical stability. Furthermore, a phaser has been integrated in the grille. The ferrofluid-cooled high-power voice coil allows the loudspeaker to handle peaks as well as continuous load without damage or influences on the sound.

Computer-aided engineering from ELAC's research field 'room acoustics' has helped to optimise the homogenous dispersion characteristic and even frequency response of the HT 19 KST.

Midbass Unit

TT115AS-XR midbass used in: 305 CE, 310 CE.

All woofers of the ELAC 330 CE and the ELAC 310 CE contain the new "Crystal Membrane" (patent pending) and their design is based on the well-known "Aluminium-Sandwich AS Technology" which was developed by ELAC a couple of years ago. The crystal-shaped inverse aluminium dome is joined to the paper cone in a special glueing process resulting the desired sandwich construction.

The stamping of the aluminium foil looks like the surface of a large crystal, this is where the term "Crystal Membrane" come from. This stamping stiffens the aluminium dome considerably which diminishes the membrane-internal resonances resulting in less sound coloration and additionally improves the large signal behaviour noticeably.

The voice coil is not only - like usually - joined to the neck of the paper cone but also to the bottom of the aluminium dome. This design results in the expansion of the transmission range of the respective woofers or midrange drivers by nearly an octave. Therefore the abbreviation "XR" (eXtended Range) has been introduced.
