The ELAC really solves the promise "big bass from small enclosures"

  • Well-balanced with depth empire, clean bass
  • Enormously detail empire and clearly
  • Very good processing

The tweeter of ELAC BS 204.2 hears the name "Jet" and has repeatedly folded membrane. The mechanism of action is equivalent to the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil: Traces on the slide ensure that the slats like a concertina in a magnetic field to move back and forth.

Bass manager

In the BS 204.2 a 18 centimeters large midbass driver plays all frequencies below three kilohertz. The ELAC membrane is a sandwich, under the very thin aluminum front chassis works a very hard pulp diaphragm. The crossover is lavishly equipped and made possible the steep separation of the JET tweeter - as the measurements of the AUDIO TEST factory show.

Minute Check-Up

Each copy is leaving after a measurement the plant. Any deviations can be via jumper on the turnout will be corrected, resulting in a better pair of equality and enables stereo image. ELAC developer Rolf Janke had tonal vote in the sound performance at a glance: In the presence of the area where the box already bundles, he gave her a little more level with what the noise in the room to make a balanced whole.

The hearing test

The ELAC solves the promise "big bass from small enclosures" really: deep, clean and gain from her locker at the state level narrow boxes hammered on the drums Alannis Morissette "Unplugged" (Warner).

This leads quickly to unreasonable high volume levels at which the immaculate cleanliness of the amount playback suffers.

With softer images, such as David Roth of the Hörkurs Super Audio CD 2 (Bose), was on the other hand, the Small ausreizen fully. Orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Dresden on ebenjener CD spoiled with clean dissolved strings sound, just for singing wish you a bit more sharpness and positioning involvement in the above areas.

The ELAC has thus genuine all-round qualities. The bass is clean and deep, it likes almost every musical genre - and with the minimum dimensions.

Conclusion

Who expects not equal the lowest Oktave or concert-suited volumes, may be astonished of the ELAC BS 204.2. The ELAC pleased the redaction best; who heard it, he can understand.
