Dignity

  • Fused feed
  • Tone reliability
  • Three-dimensional scene

Shortcomings

  • Small scale

Model ELAC BS 53.2 polochnik represents a series of 50.2. This line was obtained from a series of fiscal 1950 by some of the improvements. Redesign the housing. New columns have the front panel with a black matte finish. Radiators are decorated in a silver and black rings around the central black circle. Noticeably smoothed the edges of front and side walls.Besides the front panel, all walled housing quality finished film. There is even a feeling that it's natural veneer. Particular attention is paid to a protective grid. It is made of metal grating thickness slightly less than 1 mm. Due to this thickness grid was a very rigid and acoustically inert. The grid is held by metal rods, and its edges are laid rubber gasket. Very solid construction. Changed and the emitters themselves. To date the series have been developed entirely new tweeter with cloth dome. Their design uses lightweight voice-coil, coiled aluminum wire with a copper coating, and high-performance neodymium magnet.Midrange / woofer also been seriously reworked. In the diffuser used laminated paper.

Long-stroke suspension is made of rubber. The speaker is loaded on the phase inverter, a port which is located on the rear speakers. There in a small alcove recessed pair of screw terminals with clear plastic screws. Acoustic Enclosure fairly easy, with prostukivanii he speaks quite clearly. We can not say that you can hear "box", but additionally damped it would not stop. The sound of this inexpensive bookshelf speaker was well balanced and clear in the whole band. The tweeter is just fine sewn to the midbass driver. Some minor problems exist only at the very bottom. But they appear to relate to the caliber of speakers, and a phase inverter, it seems, is set well. Voices from the column fairly accurate and solid, apparently, for it can say thank you to natural materials emitters. The overall tone a little lighter. Filing a natural and very loose. It coarsens only at a decent volume. Scene sufficiently accurate and volumetric. The scale of the images is small. Genres shown virtually any so boldly suggest that the acoustics of the public.

Technical comments

Very good job of the designers in the configuration of this model. The frequency response and THD measurements show very, very good results. The frequency response has a small unbalance and is close to zero. This means a smooth output at all frequencies, in the operating range. As the angle plays a decline only at the highest frequencies. The rest of the frequency response is behaving exactly the same way, demonstrating a broad and flat orientation. The lower frequency bound is quite common for small bookshelf speakers: 70 Hz. Starting with this frequency and up to 20 kHz the distrotion level is kept below 0.5%, except for a couple of emissions at 1%. Moreover, this level is very stable and does not depend on the volume. Impedance changes in a relatively narrow range, without reaching critical values.
