VX-JET coaxial and coplanar Midrange-Treble Driver System

ELAC VX-JET: Basis for this innovative driver is the famous ELAC X-JET driver, a combination of the well reputed JET tweeter coaxially surrounded by the midrange driver. The innovation of the VX-JET is the variably adjustable position of the driver, therefore the name VX-JET.

By means of an adjusting knob at the rear side of the speaker the whole VX-JET driver may be moved 8 mm out (in front of the baffle) or 8 mm in (behind the baffle). The idea behind is the fact that each room has its own acoustical behaviour and the same speaker produces different sounds in different rooms. The wish of “one speaker for all rooms” has been a myth … until today. Because now, it is possible to adapt the speaker to the room.

The X-JET is a unique combination of a flat (nomex honeycomb with crystal membrane) ring radiator midrange driver and a concentrically arranged JET III tweeter .

By this the X-JET design approaches the radiation pattern of an ideal point source! This facilitates an optimized acoustic power response and results in a homogeneous and very wide sound dispersion angle (s.a. the graphics below) which provides for a new kind of relaxed but very precise and detailed reproduction.

Low-midrange Unit

A new Low/Mid range driver, equipped with all the well known ELAC technologies including crystal membrane and LLD technology completes the driver arrangement and guarantees that no detail of the recording gets lost.

Bass Units

With a diameter of 220 mm the new Low/Bass drivers not only let expect their performance. The symbiosis of crystal membrane technology and impressive drive system present a deep and absolutely precise bass reproduction, not depending on the selected volume.
