Dolce far niente: The FS 608-4Pi is a small 3 1/2-way bass reflex loudspeaker that offers maximum sound experience. It provides new tweeter and midrange driver units and two powerful woofers. As a result, all types of music are reproduced authentically. As a standard, the FS 608-4Pi is offered with a base and new adjustable ELAC spikes / rubber feet. This loudspeaker is available in a silver or titan shadow finish. 4Pi II Omnidirectional Tweeter Unit 360 degree omnidirectional ribbon tweeter yields a resonance-free upper cut-off frequency of 50 kHz and makes this tweeter an ideal component for the reproduction of SACD and DVD-A. MT37 Midrange Driver New 37 mm silk dome midrange driver in filigree design. Waveguide for improved horizontal radiation, directional effect in accordance with loudspeaker baffle design and high efficiency. The MT37 midrange driver is currently used in the 600 Series, featuring the FS 608-4Pi model.
TT 180 AS midbass used in: Spirit of Music MK III, FS 609 X-PI, FS 608-4Pi, FS 607 X-JET, BS 602 X-JET, CC 601 X-JET. The woofers of the 200 Series are designed in the ELAC proprietary aluminium sandwich technique. In a special glueing procedure, an aluminium foil of 0.2mm is joint to a pulp fibre cone to form a sandwich membrane. The result: reduced partial oscillations, no distortions and an optimised large signal behaviour. Due to the specially wide double asymmetrical ('DAS') rubber surround, ELAC's TT 180 woofer can handle up to ±15mm long stroke. This provides maximum level supply and mellow low bass. For a driver this size, such a large displacement represent a unique engineering achievement.
