Understated hi-fi

Care of the rest of high-quality classic loudspeaker design, the engineers can take the Kieler not even in such miniatures. Overlooking the MicroSub 2010 BT and 301.2 in particular, but not of "classic" of the question when it comes to design details. The main innovation of 301.2 compared to its predecessor is its new low-mid chassis, instead of separate high-and mid-bass here is a newly developed coaxial driver used. Its special feature is the oval shape of its deep midrange diaphragm, which is made from aluminum Elacs proven sandwich. The fabric dome tweeter is placed asymmetrically, she sits in a recess in the upper part of the larger membrane. "That has proved, after many trials measured and clearly audible as the optimal design," says development director Rolf Janke.
The two 115mm subwoofer work-aluminum sandwich cones in Push-Push/Pull-Pull-Anordnung, firing against the stable floor respectively of the top plate MicroSub 2010 BT. The design of the housing is in the satellites and the subwoofer is another crucial factor in sound: They are made of aluminum and are internally stiffened further, so that resonances are minimized and the chassis will find an optimized working environment. Understanding this 2010 BT MicroSub can be simple and impressive: put a glass of water on the subwoofer and turn tidy up the music with strong bass - and then observe what happens to the water's surface ... They only ask in amazement, not spill the glass.

In addition to the Bluetooth interface the MicroSub 2010 BT can be connected to audio devices via an RCA stereo input, its built-in amplifiers provides 20 watts are per satellite, in addition to its own chassis and connected to its speaker binding posts 301.2, and for the MicroSub 40 Watt ; enough loud, clean sound for medium-sized rooms. As already indicated, however, one should understand the Micro Magic II primarily as a mini hi-fi system, apart from its enforcement capability. For this application we used an iPod as the source that was connected to the excellent sounding Arcam irDock . The connection between the irDock MicroSub and took over a MicroPurl Goertz Copper.
In this case we placed the 301.2 about 75 centimeters high on the sideboards in the editing room, about eight feet apart and about 40 inches from the rear wall and using the included acrylic saucer angled slightly upward, the MicroSub 2010 BT was again right on the floor with its rubber feet, slightly right of center. With such positioning, and with this hardware environment immediately dispel any concerns that view MicroMAGIC II as a hi-fi system may be somewhat euphoric. All previously described tonal benefits show up now in a degree that surprised even the experts of the "old" MicroMAGIC completely:
As an assets the 301.2 exceeds the sound level of the 301 by far. How much noise comes in three-meter throw distances, is already phenomenal, but again focusing particularly enthusiastic, resolution and size of the spatial representation. This is undoubtedly true high fidelity, regarding the painstaking dynamic qualities and fine resolution must not hide a few more speakers behind the 301.2. Elacs MicroMAGIC II so strongly recommended as a smart, flexible 2.1-speaker system for Ambitious. Apart from a sound source there really is nothing missing from an extremely high-quality hi-fi mini system. |
