It combines the merits of stereophonic sound (new 4Pi-II tweeter) and monitor sound (JET III tweeter). This loudspeaker offers a clever solution of acoustic compensation. Different binding posts may be used for either free field setups or for setups close to walls. This anniversary edition incorporates our ideas of authentic music reproduction, beautiful design and the quality of manufacture made in Germany. |

4Pi II Omnidirectional Tweeter Unit 360 degree omnidirectional ribbon tweeter yields a resonance-free upper cut-off frequency of 50 kHz and makes this tweeter an ideal component for the reproduction of SACD and DVD-A. Its impressive and silky sound quality gives rise to airy sound that comes off easily. The Principle:
The ELAC JET tweeter is one of the most legendary tweeters in the hi-fi trade and has won international renown with its unusual transparent and effortless sound image.
The TT 115 AS woofers are designed in the ELAC proprietary aluminium sandwich technique. In a special glueing procedure, an aluminium foil of 0.2mm is joint to a pulp fibre cone to form a sandwich membrane. The result: reduced partial oscillations, no distortions and an optimised large signal behaviour.
TT 180 AS midbass used in: CL 82 and Spirit of Music MK III. The woofers of the 200 Series are designed in the ELAC proprietary aluminium sandwich technique. In a special glueing procedure, an aluminium foil of 0.2mm is joint to a pulp fibre cone to form a sandwich membrane. The result: reduced partial oscillations, no distortions and an optimised large signal behaviour. Due to the specially wide double asymmetrical ('DAS') rubber surround, ELAC's TT 180 woofer can handle up to ±15mm long stroke. This provides maximum level supply and mellow low bass. For a driver this size, such a large displacement represent a unique engineering achievement.
